The AQUA HELIX ULTRA LOW FLOW MASSAGE SHOWER HEAD by Jet Blast Products is a modern, high-pressure shower head designed for water conservation. The Technology- Using Natures Natural Abilities

The AQUA HELIX’S design actually originates from nature. After much  observation , study, engineering  R&D as well as 100s of hours of trial & error.  Viktor Schauberger (B) , “The Water Wizard” was probably one of the first inventors who discovered that water does not travel in a straight linear flow anywhere in nature. Water actually always flows in a spiral (or rotating ) formation. Have you ever seen a natural river that runs perfectly straight, they always have curves & bends as the water forms them. Even in todays faucets, showers & toilets if you look at water flowing out of any faucet the water droplet stream always rotates as it comes out of a faucet or goes down the drain. (We use laboratory calibrated strobes in our test tank to observe & record water speed & rotational actions).  So why fight nature? It was discovered that if you encapsulate water in a properly designed flexible membrane, it will rotate the membrane as it naturally does as if it were exiting a open faucet or hose. This flexible membrane takes advantage of this natural rotational action of the exiting water and rotates the single stream of water up to 1800 RPM (Rotations Per Minute). A rotating single stream of water has a incredible massage impact, plus 3X  the cleaning  & rinsing action as compared to other low flow showerheads, while using  more than 50% less water than competitive low flow nozzles. It also has an adjustable impact sleeve because some users find the massage effect “to intensive” . Lowering the sleeve provides a much milder washing massage action while still not sacrificing its superior cleaning & rinsing advantages.  

Superior Massage/Cleaning & Rinsing Action

It’s a fact that water from regular or low flow showerhead’s  (at 30 psi) would be exiting the multiple spray nozzles at approx. 28 MPH (Mile Per Hour) . Because the AQUA HELIX also rotates the water (at 12” from its single nozzle) it is actually rotating (or moving the water stream droplets) at over 60 MPH on a right degree angle in addition to the 28 MPH nozzle  exit speed. That means you are getting a 3X cleaning/massage/rinsing action with a very small amount of water (80% less at .5 gpm). This is the effect of a 28 MPH straight stream in combination with a 60 MPH + right angle shearing action (that’s a combined  88 MPH+ of cleaning & rinsing action) . The rotary membrane (nozzle tubing) appears to look like a simple flexible hose. This is a custom engineered proprietary silicone-polymer rotary nozzle that orbits in a perfect 360 degree orbital pattern around a custom engineered angular cone with a adjustable collar made to increase or reduce the massage/washing action according to the customers preference. 

Warm Water at a Distance

The rotational action also creates a uniform larger droplet pattern that holds the warmth in the water at a greater distance than other low flow (Multiple Misting small droplet or air induced showerheads). We have found that low flow showerheads with smaller  “micro” droplet size, or air induced cause the water to cool down at a exponential rate the farther they get from the showerhead. Water misting, atomization or micro droplet emitting nozzles are well-established in engineering applications which require rapid “evaporative cooling”. Because of this many hot/cold water mixer valves must be set to 100% hot water (only) just to get enough warm water to lower portions of the body during real time showering.  Using 100% Hot water (In Hot/Cold Shower Valve) in a 1.25 GPM low flow showerhead nozzle, would not save any more hot water heating energy than a standard 2.5 GPM standard shower head that is mixed at 50% Hot/ 50% Cold. You will save water, however the big cost savings & greenhouse environmental conservation is in heating the hot water.
